You don't need to get to Billingsgate or join ALL our courses at the crack of dawn!

We run the Essential Seafood Monday's on the day of the week that the market is closed.

In a relaxed and informal environment, we serve coffee and biscuits on arrival, followed by a fishmongering demonstration and then everyone gets involved in cooking 5 excellent recipes suitable for family suppers and easy entertaining friends at home. We aim to give a host of hints and tips along the way - including how to make sure your kitchen is 'fish free' at the end of cooking and some simple steps to understanding sustainability.

You will see fresh fish including those high in omega 3: mackerel, herring or sardines. Low fat white fish: pollock, coley, seabass or bream, smoked fish and some shellfish prawns, mussels and squid.

All dishes are served for everyone to try for lunch and each person will take our 'fish-pie mix'  away to enjoy for supper.  At each session there is a seasonal twist to the recipes.

This course  is designed specifically for those who know they should eat more seafood, but it just doesn't feature as often as it could on a weekly menu. This course is aimed at giving you lots of confidence to cook more at home.

We will show you how to choose fish, what to ask the fishmonger to do, how to cook it, how to tell when it is cooked, how to store it and simply how to make the most of it.

All our recipes are simple and easy to achieve and show that seafood is the ultimate fast food and doesn't necessarily need to be expensive.

We will also give you lots of ways to cheat and save time and money...and get away with it!

The recipe packs to accompany this course include nutritional information about each recipe prepared and why seafood should be part of a healthy balanced diet.
